Top Cosmetic Procedures for Professional Women

If you pay attention to the stereotypes on TV, you may begin to think that most women who opt for cosmetic procedures are wealthy housewives with a lot of time on their hands. The reality is often the opposite. Professional women are just as likely to seek out procedures to maintain a youthful glow and keep their faces and bodies looking their best.

Professional women may have different needs and preferences when it comes to considering procedures, and facial rejuvenation with little downtime is often a priority. Fortunately there are many cosmetic procedures that require minimal time in the plastic surgeon’s office and allow patients to return to work without drawing unwanted attention. Here are a few popular cosmetic procedures for professional women:

  • BOTOX®: BOTOX® Cosmetic is popular because it is easy and it is effective. BOTOX® works by relaxing certain muscles in the face, both treating existing wrinkles and preventing unwanted development of new wrinkles. The forehead and eye area are frequent targets. The procedure takes just 20 to 30 minutes and requires no downtime. Slight bruising may occur, and maximum results are seen in three weeks’ time. The results of BOTOX® Cosmetic, a smoother, more youthful looking face, generally last three to four months. Those who keep up their maintenance get even better long term results.
  • JUVÉDERM®: JUVÉDERM® is an injectable filler made of hyaluronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid exists naturally in the skin. When injected, JUVÉDERM® diminishes the look of facial furrows and wrinkles by restoring the volume in those areas. The injections take about 20-30 minutes and it is possible to return to work right after a treatment. Results are immediate and can last up to one year.
  • Chemical Peels: The skin’s surface takes a beating throughout the aging process. Sun damage, wind damage, and other natural elements can make facial skin appear older than it is. Unfortunately, as you age, cell turnover is slowed and the skin loses the ability to repair itself quickly. Chemical growth of healthy new skin cells. Peels vary in intensity, and recovery times. Micropeels frequently result in no downtime and are meant to be administered in a series. Some peels require a week to 10 days to heal from. Most peel procedures take under 30 minutes.
  • Skin Care: Doctor prescribed skin care is essential with or without other skin rejuvenation treatments to obtain the healthiest most youthful appearing skin. The skin is the body’s largest organ and must be treated well in order to maintain results from treatments or simply protect its current health. Over-the-counter products are, for the most part, ineffective because they do not contain enough active ingredient to make a real improvement in the skin. A maintenance regimen that is carefully developed by a physician ensures that patients are using safe, effective products without wasted time or money.

Nonsurgical procedures may be a great entry point into facial rejuvenation for professional women because these procedures allow patients to return to normal routines with little disruption. While surgery is still necessary to correct gravitational change such as jowling or saggy neck skin, non-surgical treatments such as those described above can delay the need for surgery if started early in the aging process.

Taking personal appearance seriously comes with the territory for many working women, and maintaining a youthful appearance is often an investment in a successful future.
