Not all facelifts are created equal. So what makes my facelifts results different— allowing my patients to look younger and more beautiful— while still looking like themselves?
It’s not magic. And it’s certainly not a cookie-cutter approach to plastic surgery.
The outcomes that I am able to achieve are possible through a unique combination of training, expertise, skill, artistry, attention to detail, and an appreciation for balance and natural beauty.
Expertise
Name one thing (just one) that you get better at without practice.
Practice makes perfect. We all know this. And with over 10,000 procedures under my scalpel, I have the requisite skills, expertise, training, and experience to know which techniques work best and how to perform them properly and safely. Generally speaking, the amount of training and experience a plastic surgeon has is directly related to her or his surgical results, especially when it comes to facial rejuvenation. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, I not only have the necessary training, I also keep abreast of advancements in my field to make sure I am offering patients the very best in “traditional plastic surgery,” “minimally invasive surgical techniques,” and “non-surgical procedures.” No fads or gimmicks.
I have built my practice and reputation on my surgical outcomes, patient satisfaction and by only providing services and treatment options that work—ones that I have had myself, or would have performed when / if necessary. Bottom line: if I offer it, my patients can expect to be more than happy with the results.
Artistry
Everyone has talents, and as a board-certified plastic surgeon, luckily, one of mine happens to be an eye for beauty, balance, and proportion. There is a certain amount of artistry that goes into an ideal plastic surgery result, and if a surgeon is lacking, it will be evident in their patient’s results. When it comes to cosmetic procedures, I am a firm proponent of natural-looking beauty, and that means: what works for someone else may not work for you. I treat each patient as an individual, marrying their personal wants and desires with my surgical skills, artistic eye, and attention to detail. I only use tried and true techniques to achieve outcomes for my patients that are natural, beautiful, and balanced.
Math
Believe it or not, beauty has a mathematical component. During the Renaissance, artists and architects used an equation known as “the golden mean” to determine the proportions of their masterpieces. As it turns out, these proportions also affect our perceptions of facial beauty. In my practice, I use special tools that allow me to better determine these “golden proportions” for both surgical and non-surgical procedures— giving my patients’ features a hidden appeal, an underlying notion of grace and proportion that surpasses what we consciously recognize. Again, It’s not magic, but sometimes my patients feel like it is.
Volume
Generally speaking, our younger selves had plenty of collagen to keep our face and lips plump and radiant looking. Losing this internal “scaffolding” (as we age) can start to make us appear older. I use dermal fillers, such as Juvederm and Voluma XC, HLA injectables that can restore volume to areas that have lost it— often with dramatic, yet natural looking results. Dermal fillers been Hollywood’s best-kept secret for years, but the secret is out.
Unlike many other surgeons, BOTOX and dermal fillers are an essential component to my facelift procedures, and the results speak for themselves.
BOTOX®
It’s essential to have the right tool for the job, and BOTOX is the perfect tool to address wrinkles and lines caused by muscle contractions. Throughout life, our muscles can get into bad habits, constantly tensing and creating “worry lines” that make us look angry or in some cases, even unapproachable. What a difference it makes when I can help relax those muscles with BOTOX. Not only do my facelift patients look younger, many report feeling more youthful too.
Non-Surgical Treatments
Surgery, fillers and BOTOX can do wonders in restoring a youthful appearance, but another aspect to looking younger is having skin that appears “even” (with regard to tone and texture), firmer, and more radiant. Addressing fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, discoloration, vascular lesions, redness, acne scars, and dullness with treatments like BBL phototherapy, chemical peels, or laser resurfacing can often be the finishing touch. What you’ll need to restore youthful radiance may be different from someone else—but during our consultation together, I’ll be able to recommend the best plan for you to maximize your facelift results.
Skincare
After all the time, energy, and cost that went into rejuvenating your beautiful face, the last thing we want to do is mistreat it! Skincare after surgery is so important. While you cannot stop yourself from getting older, you can help preserve the results of your facelift with simple skincare measures like using sunscreen and caring for your skin with medical-grade skincare products. I always send my patient’s home with a SkinCeuticals regimen designed to keep them looking great for years after their facelift. We even offer custom SkinCeuticals skincare formulations created just for you and your individual needs—so much so, your name is even on the bottle.
Your Part
Once my part is done, it falls to you the patient to maintain the quality of your results. I have written a detailed blog post on this, but bottom line: follow post-operative instructions, use sunscreen, and for goodness’ sake don’t smoke!
I’m proud of the results I get from my facelifts. The planning, care, and thoroughness I take pays off when I see my patients’ outcomes as well as the smiles on their faces. As a plastic surgeon, I know how important it is to feel beautiful inside and out. I’m honored to be a part of that journey for my patients, and I’d be honored to be a part of yours, too.
