I recently read an article in Town and Country Magazine regarding various injectable wrinkle fillers. It contained some valuable information, but some of the implications concerned me. I use filler injections in the majority of my patients seeking facial rejuvenation. They do a beautiful job filling out furrows and wrinkles on the face.
What they can’t do is lift jowls and remove excess skin from the neck. That requires surgery.
Unfortunately some physicians unfortunately use too much filler trying to satisfy a patient who really would do better with surgery. Too much filler can create an unnatural appearance. A board certified plastic surgeon can examine you and determine what treatment or combination of treatments are best for you. If you really need a facelift, don’t opt for a “liquid facelift;” it won’t do the trick. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
